Hi all, I'm wondering, would a .US site rank better in SE in comparison to a .COM if the same seo was performed on both domains for searches made by people in the U.S? Thanks
If you optimize the site with rich content, then you can make higher rankings with .info sites as well.
Doesnt make much difference from the seo point of view but people might remember a .com domain better.
.Com is better from a marketing perspective, but .info and .net and all the other TLD's are just the same. No difference at all.... Industry experts have believed this for a long while too.
.com will rank better because .us is location tracked to the US - and it does an awful job on top of that... I very much so regret having built up one of my sites on a .us. It is having an awfully hard time ranking for shorter keywords, but it's doing well on 4+ word ones. Also, don't look to .us domains if you plan on getting type in traffic. It has over 300 pages and they'd all need to be 301 redirected, I'm debating on whether I should make the switch..
.com is much better for branding and type-in traffic. so if you are asking about identical domains (e.g., www.sample.com vs. www.sample.us) then .com will clearly be better
No difference at all. I rank with my .fm domain without a problem. The only time you won't rank is if someone does a non-US geo-targeted search.
I believe that it doesn't matter what you have and I believe that in both cases SEO would be the same.
All have the same opinion and thats absolutely right. It doesn't make any difference in SEO but .com is simply good than .us
Doesn't make a difference.. Very true that you can gain a good rank with .info too but .com ranks faster and is recommended for other reasons like giving a professional feel to the domain.
