How do you know that the "women and children" killed is accurate? If women and children were killed what makes you believe they were innocent? How do you know the casualties were not all men? I have seen groups of casualties, gender, age, sex, race and upon seeing reports, the numbers, gender and sex reported were nowhere close to accurate.
I do not trust any of these reports. We say that no innocents were killed and the next day the government says 80 were killed. But it has been shown that civilians will often say their family or whatever was killed because they get government hand outs in that situation and it has been shown that terrorirsts will often pressure civilians to lie and say somebody was killed so that it can be used for hate propganda.
If neighbor of that killed innocents told you that women and children killed there then you,ll still not believe on it. Who US is to bomb Pakistan Land...If there's really some one hiding there tell government of Pakistan they can better manage or bomb them Who's on back
It's all a mess and a sticky situation. If we leave terrorists alone, terrorists will kill innocents and spread their violence. If we doggedly attack and pursue terrorists, there will be often unfortunate events. Especially when terrorists hide among innocents, using them as shields. What is the choice ? I don't envy any person [Whoever he is or wherever he is from] fighting against terrorists. He is walking a fine line.
If you can't believe it when it says "2 women and 3 children" and just reject the notion. Jeez that's a bit bizarre. Sure it's possible it could be just 5 men, but why bring it up here? If the report was 5 men died, I don't expect you to make a comment to say maybe they were children or women. Nevertheless, I know I may sound like a prick when saying this, 5 People is not that much taking in consideration of the total amount or maybe what I should say is 5 people is just a faction of the number. I'm sure that amount or more gets killed in Iraq everyday and believe me there's lots of women and children. Although I don't really know why some people have the notion that men are worth less.
The implication when they say the victims were just women and children is that they are non-combatants. I don't think anyone is implying that men are worth less than women and children.
Interesting point. A life lost is a life lost, and a sad thing. The "women, children" is sometimes merely emphasized for the added emotional and outrage effect. I am sure that some media or news source uses it that way. Would you be more shocked and mediaddicted if you saw "2 little children killed brutally in bombing" OR "125 men killed brutally in bombing"
I think there's a really strong implication in our society that they are more valued then men. When there's a disaster who do you save first? The women and children... In movies it much more comfortable to see a guy get murder than it is a women. I know this is probably not exactly the best example but remember in titanic who got on the boat first?
Women and children are often less capable of defending themselves and/or surviving dangerous situations. So they need to be given preference while saving someone, logically.
sure... depends what you talking about that is. Everyone has an equal chance when a bomb is dropped on their head or shot. Women have better chance of surviving in disasters like earthquakes. In fact during the Si Chuan EarthQuake in China, after the first week large majority of people rescued were women. Just because they are able to live longer without food or water generally.
It all depends on the situation - different situations call for different approaches or maybe just random approaches. Well, wouldn't you be inclined to save a hot chick first ? [Ok, you don't have to answer this question.] I personally would rather save some men first so they can help me with saving others caught up in the disaster.
lol fair enough. I'm just saying there is this notion that women and children are innocent therefore we must protect them. And they come first. Even though I don't think it should think like that especially when we believe in complete equality today. That's from my rational view but from my feelings I'm pretty much the same as everyone else.
