US Senate Passes Employee Non Discrimination Act: GOP House Majority wont' even consider it.

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by earlpearl, Nov 7, 2013.

    The US Senate just passed the Employee Non Discrimination Act: It was a pretty big majority 64 to 32. (four not voting or out of town for various reasons).

    The GOP Speaker of the House, Boehner, has already said the GOP majority won't even take up the bill.

    That says it all there: The Senate voted to eliminate work place discrimination. The GOP dominated house, dominated by the extreme right wing and tea party is for discrimination in the work place.

    The same group that closed the government, kicked people out of work, hurt small and large businesses, slowed the economy and took money from people's pockets, and then saw a lot of their representatives vote to have the US government default is for discrimination.

    bin laden must love them.

    Americans are wising up, and the Tea Party is getting pushed out. We are about to go from the first black President to the first Woman President. It is early, but the pendulum is swinging.

    I'll wager $100 neither of you two "savvy politicos" can articulate what is in the bill, what existing legislation there is to prevent workplace discrimination, why this new bill is needed, or what more pressing legislation has already been completely shunned by the Democrat controlled senate (like the myriads of balanced budgets forwarded to them by the house). Its funny, bordering on sad.

    @dvduval:The pendulum is certainly swinging for Hillary:
    The real headwind Hillary(and every other Democrat) will be facing will be Obama's legacy. The ACA. Depending on how things go, Democrats may not regain power for more than a decade.

    You're right. Americans are finally wising up and you are going to see during the next election.

    If you honestly think Hilary has a chance of winning, you are delusional. She does not have a chance in hell.

    {sarcasm=on}
    (gasp!) - Earl - you mean that, all you have to do is pass a law forbidding something and it will never happen again? That means America is a land of no crime or corruption!
    {sarcasm=off}

    I haven't looked at the bill, but I bet it's a smoldering pile of crap.

    Just like the $50 Billion Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill where pretty much none of the money went to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

    Earl, why don't you explain the bill to us and tell us how much it costs and where the money is going to? You first. Please, go ahead, make it easy for me, cherry-pick the parts that you like. Ignore facts like it is against the U.S. Constitution to create a "protected class". Ignore the fact that the bill is so poorly written that it violates Lyndon Johnson's Civil Rights Act of 1964.

    Corwin, I will answer for him: "OMG like who cares what Obama did, do you remember when Bush did...."

    Does anyone else see the irony in the first black president also being the most divisive?

    Ha ha. I think Earl has been absent from this forum because he refuses to sober up until Obama's or ObamaCare's poll numbers cross back above the 40 mark. In other words, 2017.

    I'm sure Obama has been a major disappointment for him. He'll probably need a 12-step program to get over it. I'll send him a PM to let him know he has friends to help support him in his recovery. :)

    I do find it rather interesting that you really do not hear anyone praising Obama or Obamacare anymore. I find the left to be VERY hush, hush on the subject, and the diversion and deflection that is going on is really unprecedented. I think if anyone on the right wants to win anything from this day forward their best bet is to probably say I told you say 1000 times a day, every day!
