I want to apologize to the clients that I have from the DP forums for the downtime today. I have been VERY upset by this all day as it deflates the confidence that the DP'ers have built in me AND makes my business here look like I am a "fly by night" webhost...which I AM NOT. I want to be here for the long haul and provide you with reliable hosting at a great price. Here's what happened. Yesterday morning, I had a subscription payment for a test account that I had created with my hosting provider. When I cancelled the invoice to pay the bill, it suspended THAT domain. Well, at that time, THAT domain was now on my main server...so the “system†suspended everything. Which is kinda wierd because THEY are the ones that transferred it to the server. That downtime only lasted about 30 minutes or so but at that time, we didn’t know for sure why it happened. Now late last night, I had an invoice for them to reinstall a database. I didn’t pay it because I took care of the install myself. So before I went to bed, I cancelled the invoice. I assume shortly after that, the sites went down again. And with it being Sunday, it took a while to get them to fix it for me. They had over 400 calls today with hosting issues and they handle them in the order that they received them. This is the quote from them,†This was a problem with our main billing center and it suspending you automatically due to you canceling the one invoice I seen yesterday. From now on let us do the canceling for you as our system takes charge it can take over. We do apologize for this and I will pass this to the boss to make sure he's aware of what is going on.†I hope that you will reconsider using my hosting services now that we are past the problem. For the few people that had sites that were down, I will make it up to you. I was going to refund a portion of your subscription to you but the Paypal fees would eat that up so please PM me with your url that you have hosted with me and I will tell you how you will be reimbursed. MAY I KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON HERE ? I just switched my proxy web site to your server yesterday and in less than 12 hours, when i accessed my proxy site again just now ( www.proxapp.com). It gave me the below terrible error message : This Account Has Been Suspended Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible Now, i was forced to switch back my proxy web site back to my current web host by going to godaddy.com to change the nameservers back to my current web host NS, but that will take me another few hours to take effect. Luckily , i haven't terminated my hosting account with my current web host else i will be in big trouble here ! Also, luckily i only switched one of my 6 proxy sites to your server for testing purpose, i can't imagine if i move all my 6 proxy sites to your server yesterday and all of them down at the same time with the above error message, i am 100% all my visitors will go away ! Please refund me here if you can't fix this problem, I am very disappointed with your service here !
now, latest update. Instead of displaying the error message, when i accessed my proxy site again a minute ago, my firefox browser said it can't find the site. Even i tried the IP address : http://67.19.229.10/, same result. I tried to ping that IP, it said "request time out" This means now your server is TOTALLY DEAD ! Oh, my God..
I sent you a PM alphaque. All the sites are up right now. I'm waiting to speak with the owner of the servers to see what the hell is going on. I WILL NOT take your money or anyone elses. If we get this problem resolved, all clients will recieve a free month next month. If I can not get the problem resolved, then everyone will be refunded. Thank you Eddie
I've come to the harsh reality that US Proxy Host can no longer allow the resource-eating CGI scripts for the proxy sites. This has been the cause of the problems yesterday. The previous problem….suspended accounts….were because of an upgrade they were making to the billing system. Looking back, I probably should have done this from the beginning but I thought it’d be OK. Guess I was wrong and I’m sorry that the clients of US Proxy Host had to pay for it with all the downtime. Again, I apologize for this decision but it needs to be done for the proxy hosting to continue. I know that the CGI script is favored by many proxy webmasters, but it depletes server resources like a fat man at a buffet.....and that's coming from an "X" fat man. OK….I have a few clients running the CGI script. They will have to switch that over to the PHP Script. I will let you know about the Zelune and Surrogafier scripts. If you need assistance, I can recommend someone that will do it for you. If you switch the script, I will give you next month for free. If you’d rather just get your CGI Proxy Hosting somewhere else, I will refund you with no questions asked. Please contact me by PM with your intentions. I will also dispatch emails to my clients to let them know what’s happening and I will update the website accordingly. Now let’s get on to reliable hosting at a great price. Thank you Eddie
No offense, but everybody that run proxies know that the cgi script is eating resources big time. It would have been an idea to learn a bit about proxies before you started a proxy host. Are you sure you have covered all other stuff ? Like that the actually bandwith used will not show in cpanel/WHM, only in your servers control center. If you dont have unmetered bandwith I would monitor that very carefully if I was you or it can be very expensive for you in the end to pay the overuse.
Thank you login for your concern. I did know that the CGI script is a resource hog, but my provider told me that it wouldn't be a problem. They feel that the scripts that are running on my server may have a "leak" and that they are hanging in the processes way too long after uses. And yes, I do have unmetered bandwidth on the servers. OK, i will give you one more chance here... Later, i will change the nameserver for my proxy site to point to your server again, i hope all my files are still in your server..I hope there won't be any more problem popping up this round.. If by whatever reasons, my site is down again, please refund me, thanks. Also, i hope you could keep your promise to waive this month (or next month ?) hosting fees for me. BTW, i don't use CGI script, i only use PHProxy script. So, what caused my web sites went down yesterday that showed the "account suspended" message ?? thanks
Hi are you sure your server is up and running again ? I tried to access the WHM at https://67.19.229.10:2087/ with the given login name and password, your server is not responding at all...it seems to me the server is still down. Are you sure everything is in order and your server is up and running ?? even i ping the IP, it said "request time out". pls advice.

Alphaque, I just noticed that your nameservers are not pointing to mine. They need to be ns1.bestushost.com and ns2.bestushost.com They are NS1.PROXAPP.COM and NS2.PROXAPP.COM Let's use the PM and/or email for any support problems from now on please. Thanks Eddie
