US phone number for my UK based Internet business?

Hi everyone.

I'm starting an online business where I need to make and receive phone calls from the UK to the USA!

I need to have a USA phone number which I can advertise on my website and that a supplier in the US can use to call me.

Anyone got any ideas of the best way to do this?

Buy a skype online number. It's cheap and you can get a number anywhere in the world for about $10-15 per month

Those are the four I have used successfully from 5 different countries. My "go to" solution is Google Voice. It gives me the best phone quality overall.

I maintain a MagicJack, Google Voice, and Voxox number at the moment. The MagicJack provides me with the easiest solution to connect to a standard telephone which rings in my home and provides a number which is viewed by most entities as a "real phone number".

I'm not sure if you can sign-up for a Google Voice number without being in the USA or by using a VPN connection to the US. It requires you have a real phone to forward calls to, which is why I keep the MagicJack.

 

DIDx and many others do offer such numbers but I'll suggest you get from a VoIP provider as they'll have cheaper rates forwarding the call to your mobile phone. Or if you have a sip phone account, it could be forwarded to it at no cost.

 

Callfire can do that.

 

some of my clients in France are using skype to have a US number and jfax for a fax number and they seem happy with that solution

 

I use Google voice and Skype, you can have you Google voice number ring whatever number you want. Works great.

 

i think MagicJack would be a great solution for you.
