Pretty close to what I believe actually. The correct time I would have more than likely supported attacking Iraq under the correct circumstances. The way it went down however, the timing, the lies, the fact that we do not have the money, the fact that we are fighting a true war on terror but dropped the ball for this war makes it impossible for me to support the war in Iraq. On another note, opium is always claimed to fund terrorism yet the opium trade went up after the Taliban was kicked out. 'If' opium funds terrorism it's yet another flaw in our failing war on drugs.
Absolutely agree on all accounts. I do think that if the Taliban had supported the opium trade and used that money for the betterment of the country instead of letting warlords control the market, Afghanistan would probably be a much nicer place to visit with a lot fewer bombs going off. Of course that doesn't jive with their religious agenda, which is the source of so much of Afghanistans troubles.
Well, you don't know the nature of Pashtun people .. revenge is in their blood. They do not forgive their enemy for decades and generations. Grandson often take revenge of the killing of his forefather, and wont rest without it. Trust me, if they had capability to fly planes into buildings, US would have saw a lot of 9/11s. Not just one.
