You are very , very good at denigrating other people's opinions and putting your own slant on things. Blair was recalled to the enquiry specifically to apologise for his actions over Iraq. As a politician he has enormous difficulty saying the actual word "Sorry". As an ally of the US some Brits are afraid of embarrassing the US when the report comes out. We'll wait and see what it sayd.

BTW - it seems that you missed my challenge at the top of my post.

Tell you what - you use your superior intelligence and find where I mentioned Kuwait, Kurds etc in an original statement and I'll apologise.

    Do you want more time?

    More like skilled propagandist.

    I second that.

While I would love to take credit for any of your accusations, including working for the CIA, or being a skilled propagandist, a quick review of the conversation shows that I am neither. The difference between your posts and mine is that my posts were filled with actual quotations from Blair, while your posts were filled with your opinions and opinions of reporters.

Perhaps you consider your opinion, or the opinion of a reporter to more accurately express what Mr. Blair was trying to say, but I like to think the man's words speak nicely for themselves. I find it odd that you consider my presentation of his words as denigrating your opinion. If anything, it is Mr. Blair denigrating your opinion.

By way of asking, how did you form the opinion I bolded in your quote above? Did you read that somewhere? After reading his "regret", do you feel that was an apology for his actions? Do you feel most people would consider that to be an apology for his actions over Iraq, especially considering the fact he blasted the "wretched policy or posture of apology" in the very same testimony?

I only ask because I find it impossible to understand how a rational person could arrive at such a conclusion. I find it even harder to understand how a rational person could stick with that opinion after being confronted with the man's words in the stark light of day. Instead of backing off an erroneous opinion, you doubled down by not only sticking with the opinion, but writing off my argument as "skilled propaganda" or "putting my own slant" on things. Its baffling.

Regarding your challenge/request to have me produce a quote of you mentioning Kuwait, I decline to take the Red Herring. Both your posts and mine are here for your review. You are more than capable of reading your posts and seeing how I would arrive at the conclusion you are hypocritically willing to condemn the US for 10 years of sanctions, while ignoring the Iraqi actions that created the sanctions in the first place. Considering your inability to acknowledge facts when confronted with them, as demonstrated above, I am completely unwilling to waste the time baby stepping you through the conversation point by point, nuance by nuance. For the record, I've never tried to teach a pig to sing either.

    Actual quotation

""I wanted to make that clear, that of course, I regret deeply and profoundly the loss of life, whether from our own armed forces, those of other nations, the civilians who helped people in Iraq, or the Iraqis themselves and I just wanted to say that because it is right to say that and it is what I feel."

Someone else said "skilled propagandist". I would never use the word "skilled", just another example of misreading or misinterpretation.

"Putting you own slant on things" is also probably untrue, although I said it. Your opinions reflect whatever is being said on the Murdoch's Muck TV station.

You don't have to step me though, I already have and already know that I don't owe you an apology, that's why I issued the challenge. You owe me one for distortion. I think it should take this form:

    1. Start a new thread
    2. TITLE: I express deep regrets
    3. Description: I unreservedly offer my deep and profound regrets to DP forum members for my replies to their posts which belittle their opinions and call into question their moral standards. I believe that it is partially a result of being a work experience student in the CIA where I was informed that the US is always right and everybody else is wrong and that if we accuse someone of something then it must be true even if they deny it. I also believe that hours of conditioning from watching Foxnews may have deactivated the part of the brain that tells rational people that balance in reporting is a good thing.

I just realized why Hollywood is so full of liberals. Its all the fantasy writing. At some point, they lose touch with reality completely. Entertaining though :D.

Actually, I watch more MSNBC than Fox. Perhaps Jeffery Immelt is to blame for my thinking!
