Hi My first post and I feel a little bad about asking something which has already been asked on this forum but i couldn't get the specific advice I needed from the other threads. I set up a blog site about 4 months ago.. It is hosted in the US however the content of the site is UK speficic for the moment (I may add US specfic content later in a sub section).. I have no backlinks etc , i have not worked on that part of the marketing as I wanted some good content on there first. I AM appearing in google.com and getting some visitors from there and other search engines. However I am not appearing in Google.co.uk, which is an issue as my content is UK specific. I have just now bought the .co.uk of the domain name I am using. I also learnt today about the geolocation tool in Google Webmaster tools. I DID set the geolocation to UK for a few mins but changed it back as i thought I'd get some advice first. What is the best way for me to proceed? 1. Is it best just to point the .co.uk to the .com 2. Will setting the geo location to UK affect my results in .com too?, ie will the results for .com fall once i set it to UK geolocation I am not sure what to do , and how to "redirect the .co.uk" shall i do this in the godaddy panel or is it best to do a physical re-direct on my webhost? Thanks in advance for the help ... Moh
I will also say that you have to build some back links from UK specific site. For more information You can also PM me. thanks
