As title say I want to go to Canada for 1 week. Right now i m in US and i have Green Card. My passport is Indian because i am not citizen yet (came to US 3 years ago) so does anyone know what i can do or who should i contact to get permission to go to Canada. Thanx
As long as your passport is still valid (not expired) then you should be perfectly fine. My advice to you if you're nervous is to contact the specific US and Canadian immigration centers that you will travel through when you go to Canada and come back, and ask if you will need anything beyond your green card and passport. I suspect you should be fine, but if you're nervous, call ahead of time and talk to them. PS: If you haven't gone across the border by car before then just two quick tips: Make sure the car is registered in either your name or your spouses, and give them your green card and passport immediately as soon as you say hello to them.
No i m going by Air with my Uncle and My uncle's family is citizen but not me so i will just give them call and make sure about it.. thanx for tips
You already have a green card you can enter and exit the US with no problem unless your green card is fake. And as RayH had posted as long your passport is not expired there is no problem going to Canada.
I have done it many times without any problems. Just make sure that you have all your documentation when trying to get back into the U.S. as it can be more difficult than getting into Canada.
Well - call up the Canadian embassy close to your home and talk to them to get the best answer. I have heard a lot of times GC holders are denied visa to enter Canada (why?) - especially when those who wants to go see the Niagara from the other side.
