US Gov wants to get hold of Google records

There are enough programs for free to stop porn on kids computers, why not use it?
Google is right when they not give info to the govt. - its none of their business.
If the govt wants to find out more they will have to do it themselves through searchings.
It is outragious how govts try to intimidate private companies.

Googles business is search and they are not dedectives.

 

For sure, great opportunity for buyers, but horrible for holders.

As a mother or 3, I am naturally 100% for protecting my kids when they surf, but I accept that is my responsibility to monitor and am grateful for the programs available to help me do that.
And while I want to protect my kids against stumbling across hardcore porn sites, I also want to protect them against potential invasions of their privacy.

I applaud google for standing up to the gov't and shame on MSN for bowing down so easily.

Bush sure is powerful, he controls oil prices, controls information, controls the media that hates him (well, I guess he doesn't control that very well.) He even controls what you can read. Man, I didn't know he can do all of that and he is just 1 man. wow.. I wish I had that kind of power.



I think this thing with google is actually funny right now. I don't think that the gov't can force them to give up the information and think it would be wrong unless they can get a subpoena that makes sense and served a purpose. But for them to ask for the information that is not personal, what does it matter? Google is right in not handing it over if there are concerns. SO AC, I may actually agree with you on some of the google ordeal, but the rest of the thread has gone into la la land..

 

Right, it is in la la land because you know your side is doomed to lose, you know your man stole elections, you know he is spying on Americans illegally, you know every member of the administration is under investigation for crimes against America and it's citizens right now!

I support Google against this corrupt administration and this issue is going all the way to the Supreme Court, the American people will find out who is right in the end and it sure as hell will not be Bush and his daddy!
