What are you a complete fool? What 'pedophiles' are you talking about, do you know what the term means even? This isnt about 'child porn'

The issue as claimed involves collecting search engine activity and use the websites in the results to analyze how they link to porn. Google did the right thing as the government is trying to interfere in their business when they dont have the right. I think it would be worst if google gave them the information in the long run as that would put insecurity in many users.

The DOJ says their investigation is about stopping kids from seeing adult content, not the opposite.

    Uhhhmm, what?

Um wrong again. The vast majority of web users can care less if the gov has results of some porn searches. No one is going to jail or anything. SOmtimes too much defiance isnt a good thing. It worked for google in the past but not now.

Wow, the government isn't strong enough to do it's on hard work and sweat, so it's trying to get it for free. What a surprise. It's almost like the rich's are just leaches getting fatter and fatter(of course). Give prop's to google for standing up against this sh**!

why do you think this is bad news. I would wager the majority of internet users applaud google's stance. the financial implications of this subpoena are not that threatening to google's shareholders and may in fact be beneficial due to increased search engine market share as people lose trust in msn and yahoo.

Again, your confused. Jail time is not an issue here at all. Also the case isnt about porn searches but rather ALL activity thats other then porn search since there is no confusion in the case that when you search for PORN you will obviously find what you looking for. The fact that google is standing up for privacy of its users, and also the privacy of there own records even if its a general privacy, still shows a stronger image in the long run. If google gave away the information without a fight it right away and that made the headlines its a downside right off the bat. Also its about principal, the government always tries to stick their hands everywhere in businessess and thats not how things are suppose to be, but regardless it keeps happening and its good to know people still standing up for it.

It's not about the government looking for porn! That's just a cover up as usual. Just like the war in Iraq. It's just the rich leaders trying to strong hold and get more power and money.

    Why from Google only???
Aren't there more search engines that list even more porn.

at least with Google you can block porn sites, - others don't offer.

    Bad games ahead

As said before: it looks like the US gov is trying to get hold on some expensive information and they can't be bothered to gather it for themselves.

Searching for porn sites without protection for minors in Google's database looks a little difficult to me. How can you find unprotected sites with a search string? Does google use a feature ~unprotected or something?

It would be much easier if you take 10 interns and let them fire search strings with porn or any other porn related keywords at the engine.

They also asked other engines, but they agreed. Google is the only one that refused the request. Makes me think about who I should trust.

Um, no. They're going after the search engines because people use the search engines. Isn't that obvious? It has nothing to do with the guv'ment being cheap or lazy. They're going to where the information is. If people used MacDonalds to search for porn, they'd go to MacDonalds.

Why doesn't the gov make a strong search engine? Shouldn't they've come up with a "google" by now. Just leeche's at work. Hell yeah they are cheap and lazy! I'd like a chicken sandwhich right about now.:D
