In the same sense, I suppose, that since criminals vote for democrats; it means that democrats are for criminals. :p

Well Republicans cater to the Cuban voters, which is a huge block in Florida , and Cuban voters tend to favor as much immigration as possible from Cuba, by in my opinion any means nessacary.

Maybe that is why Cuban immigrants get special treatment compared to people of other countries

    http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/politics/15270135.htm

Actually there is a lot about how the NEW get tough on immigration talk on the national level will cost republicans votes in Florida amongst cubans who have traditionally voted republican.

"Republicans cater to the Cuban voters" is not the same as "Republicans here are for illegal aliens". "Cuban voters" are U.S. citizens, not illegal aliens.

However, I understand the point you're trying to make. I would believe that the Republicans cater to the Cuban vote in Florida. Both parties cater to different sects of society, in different parts of the country - so this is not news.

I just think the statement about Republicans being "for" illegal aliens is an untrue, very broad generalization.

Or maybe because there is a some guy down in Cuba who is a dictator and jails people for dissent - kills them, imprisons them, etc. - or - it could be that they vote republican. Either or, really, I suppose ;)

As for SS, those in the current range of getting it, would get money from the selling of all unessential land in the west. As for those whom aren't in that range, a high yield money market account, and a slightly diversified account of investmenets would do ten times better. Simply put, a 401k, gold, and a money market account.

Medicare is dying, and extremely fast. It will financially unviable within 30 years. We did fairly well without all this socialism in medicine.

I said mostly. There's one senator there that votes on the dem side of immigration...and I believe just one or two house reps that do the same.

Not really a convincing comparison to the dems.

I'd say Cubans have a much more difficult situation than anyone. It's not like they can openly apply for US citizenship in Cuba. Everything is controlled there...

Cubans would most likely not vote Dem (no matter what), because they hate anyone that's remotely close to socialism. They get citizenship if they reach land, which is kind-of odd, because that doesn't apply to everyone. So, I'm sure to a more limited level this is the other side of the coin.

Are you like one of those people who thinks if people can't pay for their medical treatments they should just die?

No, they should get the service, although I would say any business, especially the medical business--deserves the right to some compensation for services.

what an incredibly sad oversimplification of a complex issue. Its as if you are saying, if the government can't pay for it; it can't happen. And that's the crux of a lot of problems.
