Im from the UK, but wish to delve into the us market. I have a .us domain name, do .us domains work well in the USA, or am i better keeping to a .com to target both USA and UK? I have tried a number of searches (using a US proxy) and failed to see any results with a .us extension? Am I seeing wrong data or is this normal? thanks
thanks for the reply, but i really want to know if searches via Google.com from within the USA show a lot of .us domains, or are they mainly .com? For example in the uk, a .co.uk shows frequently and there is the option to show UK searches only, is there a function in the US which is similar and only displays .us or sites hosted in the USA? thanks
It is better to use.com rather using .us. We have US based business then also using the .com domain. It works well for us.
.com's show up mostly... rarely are you going to see a .us on the search engines... the .us extensions are there and some peeps use them but the .com's extremely dominate. It'd be better to stick with the .com for marketability..
