US Campaign advertisements in Washington metro is drawing Zionist ire

On the 40th anniversary of Israel’s illegal military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, join the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation and United for Peace and Justice in Washington, DC, June 10-11, 2007 for a protest, teach-in, and lobby day.

The campaign starts underground - into the Washington subway system, to be exact. Beginning May 13, some 20 downtown Metro stations will be decorate with 46-by-60-inch ad posters and will appear for one month advertising a June 10 rally and march in Washington protesting “Israel’s illegal military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.”

The event is being organized by “End the Israeli Occupation“, and 250 member organizations around the USA.

Of course such a campaign can’t pass without the hidden hand poking its nose in it.

The campaign’s effort to publicize the rally already ran into an roadblocks that escalated into a ‘freedom of speech’ issue that eventually involved the American Civil Liberties Union.

The saga began when CBS (the New York-based company that handles in-station advertising for the Washington Metropolitan Area) refused to place the organization’s ad, claiming that it was “too offensive to be displayed in a public place.” The ad is same as appears in the image above.

I wonder who is offensive to who? The child challenging the tank on his way to school, or the tank that killed and still kills thousands of innocents in the occupied Palestine every year?!

CBS vice president rejected the ad, saying it appeared to violate company policy. “The ad,” she explained in an interview, “included a picture that I felt was inflammatory and was exploitative of children.”

Within days of CBS rejection, campaign official obtained orders from higher authorities instructing CBS to place the ad as is.

Action: If you are in U.S. join the campaign to “End the Israeli Occupation.”

Are muslims still trying to sell the "occupied" angle? Seems kind of ironic they choose a word that they themselves have more experience in doing then any group in history.

Obviously there will be more muslims at this rally, then say a "Stop the killing in Darfur" rally ;)

At one point, commandos, you had me convinced that I needed to add the formation of Israel and it's general history to the list of things I needed to make myself more politically aware of. However the more you post and scream about it, the more unreasonable and unintelligent you and your issues seem, and the lower it drops on my list of priorities.

I could, but I don't think it would matter with you. I say this, because a few weeks ago we had a similar discussion about Jews and you made it exceedingly clear that you are against Jews in every manor and form. In fact, when presented with similar issues between Jews and muslims, you were offended in great terms when Jews were supposedly at fault, but when muslims were at hand, didn't even have a bad word. In fact, went to great lengths to avoid saying anything equally bad.

That pretty much communicated a message to me about your beliefs, so I see no point in wasting my time arguing about Jews with you. I already know where you stand...against them.

evasive answer and i am not talking about jewish people at all
i want you to clarify your statment about the terrirories that you objected to being called occupied and resoning behind your objection.
we have never talked about jewish people or the jewish religion
we only talked about IDF and some of the things that i found objectionable
please don't try to equate that to being against israel or anti semetic or anything in that line since this is not an honest description of my position and it is more a reflection of your inability to carry a logical and honest conversation.

Yes, your comments a few weeks ago were very evasive. You had not a single bad word to offer towards terrorists, but were ready to blame a Jew for simply farting in a bistro.

hey sorry to bother you but when a former president writes a book and questions some israeli policy, and if this president is responsible for the biggest success in middle east policy then everybody should take a second look at the situation in middle east and look at his ideas.
now i am going to suggest each and every one of you gtech supporters :p to run for any office. i don't care if it is a city mayor or class president or any other elected office in between, that you can express your ideas in foreign policy or if you guys get to be the speaker of any kind of political event it would be great. your party needs you , you can do that can't you. go lets see what you can do.

i will look at your post carefully this wed and will ask any more questions that i might have.

He wasn't asking questions with the book. He was fabricating outright lies. There is a difference between the two.

So much so, that fourteen members (yes, 14 members) of his staff at his foundation resigned over it. So much so, that he refused to debate the book, which he *supposedly* asks questions.

This, of course, does not discount the tens of millions of dollars from well known Arab donors around the world to his foundation. A gift, in order to paint a picture more conducive to their flawed and delusional vision of the issue. Basically, bought off. I suspect though, you probably won't have any questions on this issue.

So, instead of pursing the (once again) persistent pattern of taking issue with Jews, you ought to re-read Lorien's post above. There's more than enough there for you take issue with, if in fact you wanted to.

If you like to discuss anything with Gtech, you have to chose a subject that he has experience in and it is comfortable with. I asked him in another thread about his experience in the army as potato peeler and he gave me a very good recipe for cooking potatoes. :D
