It is killing people of Mexican decent, but not others? Could it be a bio engineered weapon designed to kill only mexicans? Of all the people hit by it in the US none were seriously ill.

But it would be a great ploy to enact marshal law, which for all extensive purposes has already happened in the US. by declaring a nation state of emergency, the gov now has the power to basically do anything it wants without due process, including silencing the press and entering private dwellings without a warrant. Right now, we Americans no longer have any constitutional rights whatsoever.

Mexico is becoming a great problem for the US. The US military has conducted risk anylasis and Pakistain and Mexico are in danger of becoming failed states. Without effective border control, the US is at risk of drug violence spilling over into the US. In fact, in places like Phoniez, Arizonia there has an outbreak of kidnappings and killings connected to the Mexican drug war. Just as drug trafficers cross the border without control, terrorists may eaisly slip into the US to carry out a new 9-11 style attack.

In addition to the drug problem, Mexico is exporting its poverty to the US. Our social welfare system is strained with millions of illegal aliens on welfare.

The US already has a system of legal immigation where 1 million immigrants legally enter the US every year. I support legal immigration. I don't see any benefit of having a legal system and another uncontrolled shadow system.

I realize that the article stated that the Mexican's claim the man didn't have the swine flu.

The Mexicans are probably not telling the truth. It shows how bad there reaction to the current crisis is.

Mexico faces criticism over swine flu response

    1) Two weeks after the first known swine flu death, Mexico still hasn't given medicine to the families of the dead.
    2) It hasn't determined where the outbreak began or how it spread.
    3) While the government urges anyone who feels sick to go to hospitals, feverish people complain ambulance workers are scared to pick them up.

"Nobody believes the government anymore," said Edgar Rocha, a 28-year-old office messenger. He said the lack of information is sowing distrust: "You haven't seen a single interview with the sick!"

Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova was defensive at a news conference Monday as he was peppered with questions about why Mexico took so long to identify the outbreak, attempt to contain its spread and provide information.

The swine flu outbreak started in the spring of 1918. By the time the flu season started in late 1918, the swine flu had mutated to a deadly form.

The mosy dangeous aspect of the swine flu is the mutation process.

There are only 50 million courses of treatments.

A failed state doing analysis on other countries and identifying Mexico and Pakistan as failed states does seem to be more like an irony than a statement of fact.

Mexico is already in an ecomic crisis due to the decline in oil prices and the US recession where Mexico send 76.5% of their exports.

The shutdown of the tourist industry will be a big blow. Tourism is Mexico's 4th largest source of revenue.

On the grounds that you don't like what they said? Let's stick to the facts shall we, regardless how inconvenient those facts are for you.

Phew, i wondered when were going to hear the opinions of random office messengers..

Is that the best you can do? a random quote from an unknown "office messenger"? Your entire argument if falling apart at the seams due to it's complete lack of integrity. Firstly you source your claims with articles which refute them and now we have you grabbing random quotes from unknown office staff.

I don't have health care and I don't ask any health official for my information. I don't need the government for my health care either. Man what planet do you come from?

Between the drug civil war which has taken over mexico and the economic crisis, mexico was already getting ready for a revolution. Now that this pandemic has hit, It wouldn't surprise me that in a few weeks Mexicans start swarming here by millions and the U.S collapses and Obama and Napolitano WANT america to fail if it means they get the mexican vote.

Janet Napolitano: The cost to close the border outweighs the benefits

Congressman Eric Massa calls for immediate closure of the Mexican border until H1N1 Virus is contained

"The public needs to be aware of the serious threat of swine flu, and we need to close our borders to Mexico immediately and completely until this is resolved,"

    http://massa.house.gov/?sectionid=24&sectiontree=23,24&itemid=229

The US is not doing much to contain the spread of the mexican swine flu. In Asia airline passangers are being screened.

The danger is that if the flu isn't contained now during the flew season a pandemic could break out killing millions.

Today's news says America now has the second highest number of swine flu infections, caused by a group of 60 NYC students VISITING Mexico, not by Mexicans infiltrating the USA.

Correct. Anyone coming from Mexico including returning US travelers pose a danger. The strain that is in New York appears to be less virulent and hasn't caused any deaths.

Homeland security chief Janet Napolitano says that the swine outbreak will get worse and deaths are likely.

I don't understand why everyone is letting the media freak them out. Over 100 people a DAY die from the regular flu here in the USA alone. That's over 36,000 people every year.

Sure, I don't want to get sick either. But don't you think it's kinda funny that all we are hearing about is this flu and how it's going to destroy the whole world when there is no wars, fighting, politics, etc. to be reporting instead? It's called a slow news day people, stop freaking out!

Cuba suspended all flights to and from Mexico

On Tuesday the government of Mexico City ordered gyms, discos, theaters and all sit-down restaurants (excluding those that serve only take-out) closed until at least May 6, in an effort to limit public gatherings and the spread of the virus.

    http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1894534,00.html?xid=rss-world-yahoo

Do some reasearch on what happened during the 1918 flu pandemic.

regrettable, but insufficient grounds for new legislation. Around 2 children die per week from regular flu in the US and that has never caused you to demand borders are closed.

Or are you only interested in the child deaths which can be used as a stick to beat immigrants with?
