Hi everyone! Have never run a contest before through this forum — but I like what I've seen in the past so — here we go! Contest Details: US$50 for the contest winner (via paypal) Contest ends in 7 days from the time this thread is published. I reserve the right to end it earlier if I decide to go with a design I like. The finished logo should be of very high resolution and in png, gif and jpg format — PSD format as well. Logos must be entirely unique and cannot be copyrighted or stolen from other websites. Full rights for the logo will belong to me and the designer will not be able to distribute, sell or republish this logo elsewhere. Payment via Paypal only. Logo Details: Need a logo for http://www.linkbag.com. It will appear on the homepage and also subpages — for instance http://www.linkbag.com/dsendecki Right now, this is what I am using: http://linkbag.com/images/logo-linkbag-100h.gif http://linkbag.com/images/logo-linkbag-50h.gif Logo name is "LinkBag" Tagline is "It's in the bag" Both Logo and Tagline should be included. Logo should be web 2.0ish and maintain colour similar to what's on the site (HEX #BCD4E5). Would be nice if we could have two versions (one with a beta badge and one without)... Favicon — a simple favicon is needed. Maybe a small version of the logo, a part thereof, or anything cool you can come up with. Learn a little more about LinkBag here: http://www.sendecki.com/2007/10/17/linkbag-a-new-bookmarking-service/ If you have more than one design, go ahead and submit. Take a look at the website (http://linkbag.com) and you should easily be able to tell what type of logo will fit there. The overall design for it is quite consistent so the logo will have to reflect the flavour of the site. All entries will be considered, but in the end — my girlfriend chooses. She's got way more of an eye than I do! Thanks — and let me know if you have any questions. Or if I've forgot something!
A little feedback at the outset — Retzseo — colors are perfect, and I dig the abstract logo, how the arrow elicits the idea of placing something into a conceptulized bag. Very cool. I think something like that would work for the front page. On concurrent pages would it be possible to move the graphic from behind the text and place it next to it? That way we could keep a nice skinny header along the top. Anyway — well done! XXX — I really like the URL sticking out of the bag logo and it would lend itself to badges and favicons really well. Am concerned that the colors might clash a bit with the site — but that's for my gf to decide! At this rate, I have a feeling we won't be needing the seven days for this contest. Thanks for your submissions guys. I'm wondering if some 3D and/or reflections would help — or is that too typical for a Web 2.0ish logo? Hmmm I don't know. It's a simple web app — very simple — so the logo is important and it will stay front and centre. Also, to sweeten the deal — a link to the designers site to the winner. More feedback once I have had a chance to let these sink in!
thx for the feedback dsendecki! i've changed the color to fit your site.. hope you like it will add some reflectoin later
Hi Yoozy — thanks, I like the colour combo, actually. Not crazy about the fonts — but the color combo is quite striking.
nah I managed to make a catchy as much as I can and so logos must be I think the word "bag" is the main thing in the quote so I used that color 1 split up the whole block "linkbag">>link BAG ...see 2 the eye notice the word "bag" then "link" what requires a bit of thinking from the mind to answer: "a bag of what ?" >"a bag of links" aahh "link bag" see? anyway that's my opinion very modestly
Hey, here's my entry: Feedback appreciated. Also here's how it'd look on the homepage: http://i20.tinypic.com/2naph90.jpg
Great glad to hear to hear it Ariestoles — feedback for all when I am home from work tonight. Thanks. At this rate, the contest will eb over soon!
Thanks TD— prefer, however, the softer more cartoonish logo of XXX. Powerslave's logo is neat and tidy — and actually suits the site quite well. S has me rethinking the cartoonish/stylized logo. Mikeisme -- I did it but somehting about it is — I don't know — too retoro. Hmmm. Going to have to ask the girlfirend!
