URLS redirecting to main site. Bad?

    I have a question. If a person has two or more websites, and one or more redirects you to the main site, will the search engines pick up on it also, or will it just do the main site? Is this bad?

    It depends upon the purpose for that redirection.

    Is it to trick the search engines with pages of unnaturally optimised keywords that redirect to an un-optimised main site? This doesn't work anymore in the world of SEO.
