    Hi. At the moment, any time i make referrence to my site, i use http://domain. com. In terms of SEO, is there a difference to using http://www.domain. com? What about domain.com/index.php? Does that do much?

    Use all the same one when linking to your site.

    To make it easy I would just stick with http://www.domain.com/

    Why do you say www.domain.com will make it easier? is that because people generally use the "www" when typing an address into their browser?

    Yes and if you get natural links they usually do www.

    you can do 301 redirect so even if any body type your url without www it will redirect to www . site . com

    Its the best thing to use www when linking to your site and redirecting non-www to www using 301.

    What about images? If im using an image on an external site, should i still use www.domain.com/image.gif? or does it not matter with images?

    It doesn't make any difference for you to use with www or not. But you'd better only choose one, and forget the other. If you use both, then it will dilute your seo.

    if the image send visitors to your website, your href tag count, else, i don't think an image is counted as backlink.
