What do you all think about ringtone URLs. Do you think they should say "ringtone" somewhere in them? Should they be long, short? Is there a rule that applies to all Ringtone URLs (i.e. they should say "ringtone" something...). Does it matter? I'm thinking of www.riparinger.com... what do you think?

Jesseecooper i would appreciate your thoughts.

Don't stress over it; doesn't matter very much. or choose a very short domain name so you'll have room to include keywords as file names. like

    abcd.com/FamousGroup
    OR as a subdomain
    FamousGroup.abcd.com

hey man all my ringtone site do contain the word ringtone in them with no hyphens but it's all depends on what you want to do with the domain...
seo wise if you are going to target any kw with ringtone in it, then yes ringtone matters....

in ppc it may have a small effect on your qs but not 100% sure on that.

Flip does have a killer point however... you can {keyword:default} after your dis.url to attract a higher ctr

yeah, i'm not worried too much, but...anyway look, when I do what you said "{KEYWORD: Default}", I have been typing "{KEYWORD:Word List Item}", which obviously takes up more characters. So you're telling me I can just type "default" in place of "word list item"?

wait no, i had that wrong. i misunderstood you. i was using keywords in ads, but now i see what you're saying. they keyword can be displayed on the display url....by using the same script i use in the ads for displaying keywords. i'm not saying this right, probably, but i'm newly out of the food industry and into this so i need time.

I've found that an url with the keyword is a lot more trusting for surfers. Especially if it describes or pertains to what they're searching for. As far as adsense goes - I haven't noticed a difference.

I was planning on blogging about this topic soon. Your URL is a huge consideration in a PPC campaign. You only have so much real estate with a text ad, and your URL is almost as important as your description I have found. Most people grab non relavavent domains filled with hyphens and .info endings that can just kill a campaign. Put a lot of thought into your domain and get the best name you can, even if you are just bouncing a php redirect off of it...

also i use domains that catch people attention to get a higher ctr
i usually try to catch them off guard...
for example when someone is searching for life insurance...
(this is not my actual domain just an example)
    Display Url
    www.YourGoingToDie.com/{Keyword:Sorry}

    instead of
    www. LifeInsurance. com
