Looking at a clients url structure: /all_about_us/who_we_are/Who_we_are_1039.html To me the number on the end is a small problem but the duplicate "who_we_are" looks like a problem, have never come across this before, anyone had anything like this?
Uhm. So there is another link /all_about_us/who_we_are/Who_we_are.html umm are you using joomla then delete it ? And does who_we_are have to be there ? Shorter the better. And if you do have who_we_are.html links 2 times then the only solution is yes item code to the url but maybey you are using more than one language ? Then just add language url into the code.I think you can also call that itemid at the end if it doesn't affect ranking. ex: mypagename.html?itemid=itemidhere
Its not a duplicate page at all. The fact that there is a folder name then a file name with the same keywords is the point thats worrying me. The whole site is an architecture nightmare im just concerned about this duplicate wording
Oh you are talking about that "who_we_are/Who_we_are_". That's OK. I would say google even likes it. That who we are.html page is like the kernel of that category. It would be bolded in url 2 times also when someone searches for who we are and ends up with you page. and heres one .gov site having the same thing. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...q="about"+About+the+Supreme+Court&btnG=Search
I would try to rename the page itself. Then you would have the keywords in the directory name and additional keywords in the file name. You want to make sure that the directory name is logical though so that all pages within it are appropriate and fit well with that theme.
