I have a question pertaining to URL Structures that i see in Google. I did a search on Amazon for 'Jerry Garcia' and came up with this page: http://www.amazon.com/All-Good-Things-Garcia-Sessions/dp/B0001W0FD4/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1197901953&sr=8-2 When i search in Google for 'all-good-things-garcia-sessions' i see the Amazon page in the results but the URL looks like this: www.amazon.com/All-Good-Things-Garcia-Sessions/dp/B0001W0FD4 These are the same pages. Would this be considered duplicate content to have 2 of the exact same pages with different URLs? We are a retailer and are redoing our site. Are we allowed to submit an xml sitemap listing our URLs without the ending dynamic parameters, session ids, etc? Please forgive my ignorance if this is posted in the wrong area, im new to DigitalPoint. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dyerwolf13
It is highly advisable to avoid urls with session ids.. you may refer to the following page for more Google's take on this topic: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=34431
