    Hi
Does anyone have the latest information as far as how many characters is the maximum amount allowed to get indexed in google?

    Thanks

Google doesn't publish that info to the best of my knowledge. They are pretty good about indexing sites that use long, ugly query string parameter ridden, SEO unfriendly URLs. But I would HIGHLY recommend that you try to minimize the lenghth of your URLs, not maximize it.

Google WILL truncate the URL at some point if it get's too long which will lead to potential duplicate content issues. But more importantly, people are not as likely to click on your link in the SERPs if it is some long, ugly URL.

If you were searching for sites about traveling to NYC would you be more likely to click on http://www.example.com/travel-destinations/new-york-city.html or http://www.example.com/index.asp?ca...49283487239487194791847198137419819871497198? Personally I would never click on the later ugly link no matter how good the snippet is. My eyes scan right past those types of URLs.

not sure if there is a limit per se but long url strings with many parameters often dont get indexed (especially if the page has no inbound links)
