Url Rewrite

    Hello,
    I was learning something and still not clear please give some specific data guide me through my problems. these are questions i'm writing below..
    #what is url rewrite concept?
    #How to do it for Apache and Magento.
    #Why search engines needs url rewriting.

    also i was trying to install magento in my system and got stuck somewhere and its not letting me go ahead. please help me i'm uploading txt file where exact problem is written there.
    Same problem occurs every times i try to install magento in my system. please help me.

    Thanks! very useful links. but errror is " Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects."

    Please help me in this.

    Why are you trying to install it locally, have you tried clearing cookies, and have you thought about using some simple PHP script to do the same thing?

    Hove a look here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11223495/magento-category-urls-infinite-redirect
    you may have the same problem.
    Also if you want do do some debug, you may play with "wget" command.
    Eventually do a serch on google for: wget self page redirect .
    It may be helpful
