URL Redirect adding a slash at end of filename

For some reason my redirect keeps adding a slash to my filename.

I would like mydomain.com/email to be redirected to mydomain.com/email.htm

    RewriteRule ^email\/?$ "http\:\/\/www\.mydomain\.com\/email\.htm\/" [R=301,L]

This rule keeps adding a trailing slash to my filename looking like this mydomain.com/email.htm/. The last trailing slash is creating the error.

Any clue how to fix this?
