Url Optimization

    How important is url optimization? Is it worthy spending a week of work doing this? Thanks in advance.

    They serve as additional keywords for the search engines. Keywords in domain names are stronger if optimized. :D

    I don't know about a week, you probably have a big site (or technically bad-planned), but URL optimization is a big boost to rankings, tested and convinced myself numerous times :)

    Yes they are important and do recommend you do it. Make sure you redirect your old pages to the new ones or it will be "ough oh".

    The more keywords that show up in a google search = the higher you can rank.

    Absolutely spend time optimizing URL's, while they may not be the most important piece of SEO, they definitely hold some value

    I just wanted to make sure with you guys if its worthy of the effort. My case is little more complicated, so it would take more time. Here is a scenario:
    http://www.webcosmo.com/listing/Details.aspx?countryId=1&gId=2&dId=48&postId=12714
    This is a link of a post for a housing -> Apartments

    http://www.webcosmo.com/listing/search.aspx?countryId=1&gId=3&dId=80
    This is a link of a post for jobs -> web / info design jobs

    If I am not wrong they may be seen as one url on SE. I am interested in Google mostly. But if I can show them like below I think would be considered as separate links:
    webcosmo.com/housing/apartments/good_apartment_rent_it
    and
    webcosmo.com/jobs/web_info_jobs/120_thousand_dollar_job

    Problem on my site is, I have way too many sub-categories.
