Which one is better from SEO prospective http://www.mysite.com/digital-point/good-site or http://www.mysite.com/DIGITAL-POINT/GOOD-SITE Thanks
From a strictly SEO standpoint it doesn't matter. From a traffic perspective, all caps would be more eye catching, but I personally would find it less professional. All caps is the text equivalent of yelling, so to me it's like having someone outside your store with a sandwich board yelling "Widgets! Widgets for Sale! Come get your Widgets!"
You could do: hxxp://www.MySite.com/Digital-Point/Good-Site All caps is very annoying and as Tim said, unprofessional
Thanks Also I think that with urls in CAPS you are more likely to lose type-in traffic (if any is going to exist ever )
i think you are right. personally i wont find appealing a site with all caps url, its just to desperate
its an accepted fact in marketing that you shouldnt use all caps when writing sales copy , so I would venture to say that its the same for the URL's. When writing sales copy its a good idea to Capitalize the First Letter to draw attention to something like a title or a header or to accentuate a point. But when writng a file extension , if it has to be typed in the exact same way it may be a very bad idea. Just my lil bit of input on this Hope I helped
using caps is not a good idea, as it is more difficult to read, people read faster by recognising patterns in the text itself. Try it yourself, grab a paragraph of text change the text so it is all uppercase and then read it. Then read the same text again without the capitalisation. Be honest which paragraph above was easier to read
My feeling is that you should have your URLs all lower-case, unless you'll be getting all of your traffic from the SEs or links, in which case you could go with capitalizing the first letter of each word. I wouldn't recommend using all caps, regardless of the circumstances. If anyone will be typing your URL directly into their browser, you're better off with lower-case, as this is what people are used to seeing - and typing. HTH, Sam
