URL Format in Blogs

I built a new website using Wordpress and set the page URL format to:
    http://mysite.com/page or http://mysite.com/category/article

The site has been indexed by G a few days ago, but instead of the ones above, Google has only indexed some irrelevant pages like ..mysite.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword or ..?action=register etc. There is no link on my homepage to those pages.

Isn't the first format supposed to be better for SEO? Or should I switch back to Wordpress default URL format?

The first format i.e. /%postname%/ is the prefered method.

It took my blog a week or so for google to show the relevant pages. Give them time, they don't seem to take everything everytime.
    That's my experience
