I have just started playing around with optimising a Google AdWords campaign for my father's business, and I just wanted to make sure that I'm doing everything within Google's policies. My confusion is over the whole URL thing. I was just wondering if is OK to have the following display URL with the following destination URL: Display URL: DadsWebsite.com.au/FreeQuote Destination URL: DadsWebsite.com.au/landing-page.php also would this be OK: Display URL: DadsWebsite.com.au/Call-Us/FreeQuote Destination URL: DadsWebsite.com.au/landing-page.php Thanks in advance.
Looks like it should be ok. As long as the root domain is correct google doesnt care whats after the /. Good Luck. -Patz
Yep both find, you may get caught on the word free though, but reviewers tend to ignore text in the display url.
These are fine... you just need to make sure the root of the URL is the same which in your case is Display URL: DadsWebsite.com.au Destination URL: DadsWebsite.com.au it doesn't matter whats after the /
just a note - Use the display URL to load up on more keywords. You can use caps or cap the first letter of each word. Dashes work better than slashes, but test anyway. Google does not look at the display URL so you can use the word "best" or any other restricted word.
As already stated, your fine as far as policy goes. However, what's the quality score on the keywords you're using to target the ads? The reason I ask is, you should be focused on increasing the quality score > thus decreasing your max CPC. You can accomplish this by changing your landing page URL to match your display URL in your ad variation. So, change your actual page URL to /FreeQuote, and you'll now have consistency in your campaign - which increases quality scores!!!! TheAdwordsProfessor.com
I have not tried that one, but I'm sure it would work - something like - www.tinfoilhats/morons-click-here
