well thinking about page rank distribution and seo optiomization i want to know what is the better method to link articles
/title/ is probably best - I use it for my website. It's easier for the user to find and remember your pages, it looks cleaner and I don't believe it is better or worse than the others SEO wise. Remember to try and use a trailing slash for various reasons but obviously have it so if used without a trailing slash it all works fine.
Same thing, but /title is better IMO because in case you decide to switch to a CMS later you can still use url manipulation to retain it.
If you are going to say .html then please give your reasons otherwise your opinion is worth very little.
Hmm that brings up a related question I've wondered, does the .html count as a word in google's mind? like url.com/hello/ versus url.com/hello.html Does the HTML count as a word and therefore take relavancy away? After all, when I use google, if you type in HTML it notices it in the URL. So it does reads the extension for purposes of search.
i`m thinking about the density of keywords this way is best, but now we have 2 secondary levels /title/title. html and i think is worst thinking about page rank distribution.
I'd say title.html. Because the actual file name has the keywords directly in its name. As oposed to /title/index.html where the keyword is indirectly there via the folder name. This can of course be linked to with domain/title to achieve the same thing, but i do suspect google may rank a page higher if the true filename gives an indication of what the page is about when keywords are present in file name. But maybe not? Since index.html or, .htm, or .php, etc. is all that can be used for the homepage of a site. A better way to use sub-folders would be /title/title1.html /title/title2.html /title/title3.html where titles 1, 2, and 3 are realted keyphrases to sub-folder "title". As far as PR distribution the title1.html can act as a hub for all title 2, 3, 4, 5... pages linking to it, and home page and other sub-folder/hubs linking to the hub. This way most PR gets directed to the hub page with lesser amounts to the individual/related pages off the hub.
But then you could just do /title/title/ the html counts as a new keyword (i think, if not, someone please disprove me) and surely html is no-one's keyword here.
The point of doing /title/title.html would cover both the keyword distribution at the first level (folder) and in the actual filename. Doing /title/tile/ is pointless, as the file would have to be index.*
Thanks guys, currently i`ve choised url.com/title because, i think is the best solution, because is easyer to remember the pages and .html isnt countered at all, and also i`ve sow that this solution is popular among many websites. I`ve also choosed /title/title/ for some categories as Cyrus255 and Acroplex suggested ... like Regional/States/
