I am making my first adsense website, I want to buy the domain tomorrow, and I was wondering if .com/.net/.info matter'd much to adsense/search engines, and I was wondering the same thing about hyphens in the URL. Thanks in advance for any advice.
You probably don't want too many hyphens in your url. buy-some-viagra-now-online-from-my-site-please.info probably would set some bells ringing at the search engines.
I was thinking about buying more of these instead of .com's. Is it working out for you? Has it affected your traffic at all?
Hyphens are good to have in the directory and filenames on your website, e.g. domain.com/blue-widgets/buy-now.html. Better than underscores, spaces or nothing. Cryo.
URL does matter, actually. One of my sites has part of its domain as "Desire" and I get all these ads that show up with "Desire" in them, such as, "Asian Desire", "Dream Desire", etc., when my site actually relates to gaming. >_> I'm planning on changing the domain to something else now because of this.
I actually find hyphenated domain names easier to read as the individual words are separated by the hyphens. But they are more difficult to type on the keyboard.
Don't use too many hyphen on the domain name. 3max I would say. I've been hearing that filenames with hyphens look spammy too but im not sure about that.
