URGENT Why arent my links getting picked up

    Guys,

I am doing some linking from ultra high PR domains, such as NASA blog etc to get some good search engine love... However the links aren't getting picked up.

Even if I post the links within my PR5 blogs etc, and the pages do get indexed (which they do, I have the proof) the links do not get picked up.

Why dont all the links get picked up and indexed? One person has told me that Google never shows you all its pages it their index or all your links in Google webmaster tools.... However I dont see why they wouldnt? Why wouldnt they show you the most relevant content?

I am even building links to the link I want indexed and still nothing even though the other links are getting picked up.

    What is going on???

You need to stop obsessing over seeing your links show up in your GWT account. Having links in there won't make you any extra money. Worry about actual search engine rankings and traffic instead. Keep getting the kind of links that you know will help and you will eventually see results.

It is true that Google does not show all links in GWT or with the link: command. Most people believe Google is guarding algorithm secrets. After all, if you know exactly which links Google currently likes, then you can game the system that much easier. Google does not gain anything by reporting all of your backlinks.

Links are the most important element on Google rankings. They won't (probably ever...) show all of them to you. They will pick them up alright...but not showing it to public (and if I remember correctly, so Google has clearly statet in their anouncements). Why? Well, I see at least one good reasons:

For your own safty...if there would be a place where anyone could check thoes links up, people would out rank you in any given search term in no time. Even if it would be behind password, some cracker could rip it open. If no one actually knows why you rank on where you rank...Google oppinion is: more secret, even better.

YOU TWO ARE MISSING THE POINT.

I know Google doesnt show all links, the problem is the pages the links are on dont even get indexed, even though I direct Google to them via bookmarking sites and my own sites which do get indexed and have been indexed since directing Google to these pages with my links on.

Why isnt Google indexing the links?

Aa...well that's a different story. It really has something to do with the actual page. I'd need to see the page before I can say anything.

No we are not missing the point. We both answered exactly what you asked. YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE POINT.
"However I dont see why they wouldnt? Why wouldnt they show you the most relevant content?"

You are just being too impatient with Google. With the massive amount of pages that Google has to crawl and index, it takes a while for things to show up. A page is not going to get indexed the minute you link to it. Depending on what kind of links you point to it, it could still take months for Google to index that page. Just because the link does not show up in Google, it does not mean that link is not being counted. Regardless it's pointless to worry so much about links showing up. If you know how to build good links, then keep doing that.

If Google is waiting to index them etc, then that puts my mind at rest to know they will be picked up at some point, but just annoying that its not now!

Dont check backlinks or index pages dailly. Its a waste of time and just wastes your time every day checking them. I saw someone say think of traffic more than anything. I agree 100%

For as long as your Google ranking is good, then you're doing fine! Google doesn't show all backlinks and regularly update them.

That's a normal scenario in google backlinks, they don't show all your links they said its for security purposes. But don't worry, if you check in other search engines you will notice it there.
