    Guys

I have urgent question about domain expire and renewal.

My one domain is almost expired, expiry date was 8th August 2009. Suddenly today I checked and find that domain is expired. Let me know for how long domain will be with me once it is expire or for how many days I am able to expire it.

Second as above my one domain is almost expire on 8th August and second will be expired on 14th August. I was planning to transfer these domains to Godaddy (right now these are not with GoDaddy). Does rules allow to transfer domains in my domains current situation i.e. one is almost expire and second domain has 5 domains to expire.

Please reply so I may renew domains accordingly.

    Regards

    GCS

Usually near expiry and expired domains are not allowed to transfer. Quickly renew the nearly expire domain and regarding the expired domain see at the control panel if there are any recover domain. I know there is at Godaddy. Also better still, email your registrar support right away.

well, you have 30 days (may be 40 days- can't remember now) time to renew. After that you can renew but will have to pay more money. after 70 days from expiry, can not renew, after 75 days, you can register again as its get dropped.

It is advisable to initiate transferring domain 2 months before expiry. because some registrar work very slow. though all things should be instant. Some registrar do this work realtime some registrar take time, as they check manually- experienced few days before.

I could not transfer a domain within 7 days, so again registered with old company.

Also, kindly note, don't transfer within 2 months after renew.

Shouldn't they give several warning emails before expiry date?
I received around 5 warning emails for each of the domains expiring...

You can claim expired domains on your registrar only within 20 days of the expiry date.
You can try to transfer a domain 5 days before expiry. I did this succesfully
