Controversy sells. Create a short report where people divide into groups in your niche, then side with one of the groups. Make the report available for download at your page, and also include your website links throughout the report.

Then you could distribute it through forums, newsgroups. Simply say that you wrote a report on X, and ask people what they thought about it.

If you create a very controversial report, it will get viral in your niche.

 

Create interesting content and submit to sites like digg.com, netscape.com and reddit.com.

IMO you should try SEO techniques that will work best for your website. Engage in blog/forum commenting, Youtube(Video Marketing), Social Media Marketing, Social bookmarking, PPC and the list goes on and on.  

 

I also need this, I was going to try writing a few articles and posting them on Squidoo and do some blog comments.

 

You could find related blogs in your niche, and submit comments with a link back to your site, ensure that the comments adds value or else they will simply be removed by the admin
