    Hello Friends,

    I have two questions for you.
    1. How to remove pages that are wrongly indexed by Google?
    2. Making a folder password protected, if I don't want Google to index any page of that folder, Is it a good technique? What about the session? If there is a session applied, Can google crawl the page after session gets over?

    Please help me out. Its urgent.
    Thanks

    1. login to the google webmasters login and put in the pages under the url removal section (google webmasters login is from where you submit your sitemap.xml file)
    2. a better alternative would be to mention and disallow the folders you do not want the googlebot to index in your robots.txt file

    Info about robots.txt can be found here.

    Basically what you do is create a file called robots.txt in your webroot, and in that you list the useragents and folders you wish to disallow access to.

    <meta name="robots" content="no index, no follow" />

    But it won't be urgent and early crawled pages may stay indexed if you use robots text.

    From my experience robots.txt is read by Google every 24 hours regardless the interval when they index your page. So, my page is out of their index in 24 hour.

    Password protected folders won't be indexed by google, since they don't have the password, regardless the session is over or not. So don't worry about session on password protected folders.

    Nevertheless, for a specific problem, you should contact google personally and ask them to remove your page.
