    Hi,

Something is really disturbing me. I learnt that the free blogs are not so much favorable to blogs that are commercial.

    Let me explain...

I am an affiliate. I set up couple of blogs and posting solid informational articles and ideas on them everyday but they have affiliate links embedded in them that will direct readers to the product/website I am promoting.

Some of the articles also have pictures embedded with affiliate links.

Now I read somewhere that the blogging service may ban such blogs if they considered it too 'commercial'.

You know why I believe this? I first used wordpress so when I had problem and contacted the support, guess what I was told?

I was told they don't like my kind of blogs that is trying to sell something. He told me (I think Mark he is name) that WP has low tolerance for commercial blogs.

Then I move to blogger and have set up at least 6 blogs now.

But I am still afraid. What can I do...?

It will be a lot better to have your own hosting and domain as this will enable you to have more freedom,

Blogspot is pretty tolerant from what I see .. but getting a domain would be ideal. Try Hostgator .. unlimited domains = great deal. PM me if you want to use my ref link .

Uh, who told you free blogs are not powerful? They carry a LOT of authority and in my opinion are easier to get higher pagerank than if you just host it .

I have a couple of purely Product Preview enabled Amazon shopping blogs on Blogger myself. Just don't ask anybody about it, it is a known ethic that splogs (spam blogs) like this are frowned upon by the community at large.

    Thanks so much everyone.

I really gleaned lots of ideas from you all. Though I didn't have any intention of doing any thing out of ordinary or deliberately go against their rule.

And I don't really have a clue about how to go about hosting my blogs, but what about the paid blogs like www.typePad.com?

Again, I will send some of my blogs URLS to you guys and see what you have to tell me further...

If you dont do anything illegal--spam-- your blogs will not get banned. I suggest you sign up for blogger because that carries a LOT of authority on search engines such as msn.

Getting a higher pagerank on a free host being easier than a dedicated domain is simply not true.

If you use the exact same SEO techniqes, www.yourdomain.com will be far easier to to get a good SERP for "yourdomain" than if you use yourdomain.freehost.com or www.freehost.com/yourdomain.
