Urgent Help Required on Keywords & Tags

    Hi Team,

    Can anybody please help me on below questions which are related to tags & Keywords.

    - Can I use same contents in META TAGS & in META Keywords without any negative effect ?

    - What is maximum number of Tags or Keywords I should use with my page?

    - What if there is repetition of some of keywords or tags in multiple pages

    Hi,
    I don't think that there could be negative effects because google doesn't use the meta keywords for ranking purposes - see https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/79812?hl=de
    .. so length (in this case ;) doesn't matters

    Question # 1 concerning using same content in meta tags & meta keywords == > Google does not use meta keywords @ all. As mentioned by CU-Viper, we concur with CU-Viper. You can use meta keywords but Google does not use them @ all. We as a practice to do not even bother with this meta tag for keywords. Our supporting reference for our decision to not use keywords meta tag is here and focus on description meta tag is here==> http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/how-to/2067564/how-to-use-html-meta-tags. Our recommendation is to forget about the keywords meta tag and focus your effort on the description meta tag and title tag as the article reference suggests. Please note the description meta tag max recommended number of character is 155.

    Question # 2 concerning maximum # of meta tags or keywords per page == > Meta tag description max recommended is 155 characters and keywords in title tag max recommended is 70 characters.     Question # 3 concerning repetition of some of keywords or tags in multiple pages == > Be careful since Google will detect it and suggest improvements. You can use the HTML improvements tool @ your Google Webmaster Tools account. If you do not have a Google Webmaster Tools, we recommend that you sign up for one. You can find the HTML improvements tool in your Google Webmaster Tools by navigating to HTML improvements. Google will generate a report of following: 1 ) Duplicate meta descriptions, 2 ) Long meta description, 3 ) Short meta description, 4 ) Title tag evaluation, 5 ) Non indexable content.
