I've had an email forwarder setup on a domain for years, which has always worked perfectly. But I've recently switched my hosting to a new server and now the email forwarder doesn't seem to work. I have tested it thoroughly and it forwards perfectly to all email address - but not the one I want it to, which is a BT Internet address (myname@btinternet.com) even though it worked on a previous server. I am guessing the problem lies with BT Internet and they are blocking emails from that server for some reason, even though it is new?! If anyone has any ideas as to what I can do about this, please let me know as it's quite urgent!
Thanks for your reply jayshah. I have updated my original post with further background info. The forwarder is setup through cPanel.
Can you try creating a mailbox and emailing your BTInternet address? If it bounces/is rejected, it will tell you why (i.e. blacklisted IP or too many emails to their servers or something). Either way, please post the results here. Jay
Ok I've done this, sent an email to the btinternet address about 10 minutes ago and haven't received any response yet...
If you don't get a bounce, there could be something like actual IP banning in place. Do you have SSH access? Jay
Yes I do have SSH The server is only 2 months old - it's a dedicated which I bought from The Planet and I only have a few sites hosted on it
Can you try looking up the MX records for the domain (btinternet.com) and telnet'ing manually? This http://www.netadmintools.com/art276.html + http://www.rdpslides.com/webresources/FAQ00035.htm may help you. Jay
