    Edit: prob solved.

    Advice is really appreciated.

Today when I upgrade my bidding directory www.prdir.org to version 1.4, the database was destroyed and I don't have backup. :( I learned a serious lesson.

I have never get prob when upgrade my directories with phpld script. During the install, it warned me : "it will delete old data", I didn't think it means database.

I am contacting the host company to see if they can restore.

For those have listings in my prdir.org, please don't feel panic. I will try my best to restore them. At least I can use google cache to restore them

    Refund is the last thing.

Well if you do not have old database backup not sure how you can recover it from scratch.

But from the error on your site, seems like template issue to me, just swtich to default template.

Can you login to admin panel and see listing if so nothing is lost.

Looks like a template issue to me as well - switch to the default template in admin and see what happens.

Thanks for all kind replies. The most important thing now is to restore the database and all listings.
I may not want upgrade to 1.4 after this accident.

xc60, are you able to access the adminCP? If you are, make sure that the template assigned is the default template, and if you had a template from 1.2 you'll have to modify it for the new release, 1.4.

    The error showing
is a template error. This can easily be fixed. Switch to the default template until you can get your template upgraded. Upgrading the template is not that hard at all.

    His data was definately destroyed.

Perhaps you should pay attention in future. When installing 1.4 it asks if you want a clean install (thats why it asked if you wanted to destroy all date). It also asks if you want to upgrade from a previos version. This was the option that you should have taken.

Looks like you've got a long few hours of data entry ahead of you. You also need to change your template like others have mentioned. Some security on the admin panel would help too.

I see your working on it, let me know if you still need help, I have all your links back, you just need to edit email address's, otherwise I would have to destroy that database.

It is amazing that you can retrieve the data from your side. :D How did you do it?

I finally find the system backup to complete the restore. But thanks a lot for your offer.

Its actually a matter of grave concern, are you hacking phplink bid directories or maybe there are loopholes.

Please explain how you have the users backup otherwise it's going to be really grave concern for all phplink bid users.

There are applications that can do this, take for example, if you delete a file from your PC and wish to restore it there are softwares that can help you restore it.
