Hello all, I'll keep this simple - I already have a site which I like. Now I want to add an image slider and I want it to be displayed more towards the top of my homepage. At the moment, title/description and header take up too much room. I have included a sketch so that you can understand what the problem is. I need you to redesign the top part of the site so that the part that shows the big images from the image slider (actual size shown in the sketch) is displayed higher and becomes one of the first things that hits the visitors' eyes. You don't need to worry about making an actual header or a logo or anything like that. I mainly need a new structure for the top part of the site with colors that match. I tried to do it myself but I just couldn't get it right, because I can't get it to look professional. You have a lot of creative freedom since every single part/area of the sketch can be fully customized and all the colors can/should be changed. You can take out everything and just leave the image slider as long as it makes sense... Simply putting the slider up there wouldn't really make sense.. I have a logo for the site and it's width: 400px and height: 200px so I guess it would make sense to put that at the top of the page. Maybe the logo on the top left and then some text together with the title on the top right... The only real requirement is that the title and some kind of tagline/text is displayed above everything else. And I would take out the whole header (black area) and the bar with the pages (red area) so that we save space. Then I would like you to use colors that match. At the moment, I have placed thin orange borders around the image slider so that you can get an idea of what we can do.. It could be that the whole site is blue and there is some white for the image slider in the middle which will certainly catch the visitors' eyes... Anything works as long as it looks professional. I have included a black border in the sketch so that you can get an idea of what I consider the "top part" of the site... You can go a little bit lower than that but not too much. This may sound complicated because I don't really know what I want, but it really isn't... Just give it a shot, or ask me any questions and I will try to guide you. I have created a design/structure by myself but it's not good, so I decided to run this contest for 24 hours in hopes that one of you will come up with something beautiful. I just need the PSD. If after 24 hours from now, I don't see a design I like, I will probably use what I have... But I am sure that it won't come to that. Thanks in advance!

This is the basic idea... but it needs quite some work. A few pointers: The actual width of the site is 980px and then there is an exterior background (if you look in my sketch, it's the blueish color). You didn't include an exterior background. You have changed the image slider and used 1 really wide image. The slider must be used as shown in the sketch, it displays two images at a time, and it has a width of about 720px. You can change the styling of the image slider by adding a background around it, or by changing the color/style/width of the borders around each part of it. You can also remove any of the borders around it if needed.. The menu bar seems too simple... We could maybe consider adding 2 bars (one on the left and one on the right) with some space in between them... Maybe a vertical menu bar on the left hand side and then the image slider on the right... I don't know... just thinking out loud... But I want it to look nicer. In general - I would like to see something more exciting.. This design looks way too simple. I am attaching an example of something I did by simply putting parts of other websites in there just to show what you could do... In that example, you can see a small part of the logo which is just the title of the site with blue and web 2.0ish fonts... Feel free to adapt the colors of the site to the color of the fonts in the logo - but that's definitely not a requirement... I obviously don't like this example design a lot or I would just use it so please try to do better Thank you!
