No because I checked my backlinks with DNScoop.com and there are none from blogs which I've commented on that are NoFollow
I believe no-follows are counted as backlinks...I've posted nowhere on dofollow and yet i have so many backlink
If it is true , this is good news for me, I found my blogs with many backlinks to no-follows.I was little nervous about it, as it took me a lot of time to get this backlinks , and from known sites and in result nothing.Good good thank you
So in summing up, is there any consensus on this issue? It appeared a few pages back that there was a real belief that nofollow links do count as backlinks, but now I'm not so sure. Surely with the combined knowledge here, we should be able to at least tentatively come to a conclusion?
I have just known about this information. As we know nofollow backlink still becoming backlink for google algorithma
Webmaster tools has always counted nofollows. But, before you get too excited....watch this Matt Cutts YouTube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4UJS-LFRTU
yes sir..... but if you can get some links from great sites like WIKI, and others that are in your community that will provide Google with more ranking "Signals"....and links will bring referral traffic too....
Webmaster tools shows up all links to your website irrespective of whether they are nofollow or dofollow. You should be surprised when you find a nofollow backlink with the 'link:' parameter, not when you find them in your webmaster tools..
a very heated discussion on this issue with lot of proofs and logical explaination.. http://sphinn.com/story/109256
I think it is not officially declared from google. What we should put this question in google blog or Matt Cutts Blog, hope they can provide an answer to this.
Yeah no-follow are still counted and help with SERPs, you just lose the PageRank effect from them. This tools shows do-follow and no-follow www.backlinkwatch.com Thanks Brian
The problem is that we cant trust much in what he said, because Google will never explain many things. We know that they want people to believe something, but we don't know if that is true. based on facts instead of based on words, it looks like Google changed.
This is dead on, end of story. Read the Google webmaster blog, it is pretty straightforward about such things and is a must read for most on this forum. Thanks for posting fact rather that misguided speculation.
Why we don't just forget for a moment the Google words and try to analyze just facts? I guess nobody want to make a flame war here, based on the believes of anybody. I think that we don't loose anything trying to forget Google words and pay attention to the facts. Google is well known because they never tell the 100% of anything. And its not a misguided speculation. Only if you take the Google Blog as a Bible... but everyone else has the right to try to find out what is going on. ------------------- I will make a simple experiment. Put a nofollow linking to a page that has no other link poiting to it. If Google index it, then they are following nofollow.
