Hey guys, So i'm running an adult tube and we were ranking well for some keywords, in fact one of our keywords started bringing in 3k+ daily. All of a sudden on 27OCT2011 we lost ranking on almost every keyword. The keyword that brought in 3K only brings in barely 250 daily now. I have a few hypothesis on what the problem might be but we would like some suggestions. 1. Panda Update I know there has been a panda 2.5 update lately. 2. Tons of crawl errors lately We have about 2.5k crawl errors from bad sitemap generation. It went up with time, but the last few crawl errors found were on 26OCT2011. Maybe we crossed some kind of threshold? Keep in mind that we have over 400k index pages so it still a small percentage. We have since fixed our crawl erros and we see the amount of crawl erros going down lately on webmaster tools. 3. Unique Content We have not changed anything in our content system. i understand the video content is duplicated from other sites by nature since our users might have shared videos obtained else where, but I think the titles and descriptions are not copied. do you see a problem with this? I don't see how this would make our site drop all of a sudden unless the latest Panda 2.5 update started factoring this in. 4. Link Trading Strategies We usually do A-B-C or A-B-C-D link trading with lots of other adult sites. Is there any problem doing th Thanks in advance for your much needed input.

It's a good idea to look at how the search results have changed. Have all video results been dropped? More and more info is coming out that Panda is mostly about dup content, G was looking at turning the audio portion into text to better index the videos. If this is true your video may have been tagged as dup content.
It is a bit late for the Panda update (it was rolled out in the end of September). From my own experience I believe that Google has some kind of threshold - the idea being if the page has lot of crawl errors together with some other minor issues like links from bad neighborhoods etc. then it kind of downgrades the content value of the rest of the site. The indications could be drops in traffic (usually not so sharp) and less frequent crawls. What you should do is 1)check whether you still rank for your domain or brand name - a)if not - there is issue with bad links or bad spammy pages, you should remove them and ask for reconsideration - b)if you rank for your domain and brand names - 2)check do you rank for the unique kws you have, the ones you are supposed to rank good - I understood you don't rank for them anymore - probably Google discounted value of big portion of your links - what can you do is to get new good links and if it does not help again ask for reconsideration of your site. Good luck.
