    Hi,

    Just as the title says.

Do you know what their should be. Is the first one a - or a _ or maybe something else. I have not got a clue what they are and have a few in my website and need to do a mass edit on them and replace them with the english characters.

    Thanks!

they are "english" characters - the a has an accent over it, the second character is the euro symbol (in the same way as a $ or £) etc

If they are turning up in your page there is a miss match between the coding of the document/ database where they are stored and the coding the site is telling the browser is being used
