Hi, I have a client who wants me to use a template, this is a first for me I always do everything from scratch.

The template has 2 size options 800 centered or 80% dynamic, which would you recommend?

Also are dynamic templates bad for SE ranking?

    Thanks :)

I would say 800 centered.. Looks better and most people use a higher resolution that that..

Ye that's what I normally design at, but for the first time I bought the template with the idea of completely modifying it :(

Yea, the 800 Center, that way will look better, and offer full screen for the 800 resolution viewers with sidebars for those in high resolutions. But as far as the Dyanmic being bad for searc, I have never heard of that

Hi, well whilst I waited for a reply on here, I was advised to go for the 80% dynamic, and told it would look the same at all resolutions, like I said I've never used a template before, so took the advise, but the template certainly doesn't look the same at all resolutions, first at 800 X 600 it has the dreaded horizontal scroll and the placement of the house in alignment to the log in box underneath and the button placement change depending on the resolution.

I would expect a template to be perfectly aligned, but when it was first installed the header was 80% but the rest of the page was a lot wider, so they suggested changing it to 100%, which it is now. I'm thinking maybe I should ask for a refund or if they will exchange it for 800 centered, what do you think:confused:

Can you please check and see what I mean :)

I will post the url, when they have finished updating the script :)

    Thanks

    Dee
