Hey all, I know good webmasters do not talk much, but i really need help, i help people when i can and would hope someone here can take a few minutes to help me out as im throwing money away as every second goes by. i created 3 ads.. 1 image advert and 2 text adverts... my image advert has had 190+ clicks in only a few hours (this is now paused).. my text adverts have only had 12 clicks between them. also these text adverts are only being served in google search and not on peoples sites, and i have to idea why.. the text ads say "pending approval" it's been 36 hours now since adding them.. while my image ads were approved within 30 minutes... My image advert sent traffic, but did not convert to any sales (i don't think) and my other problem is i basically own the first page of google for all related search terms for my niche.. my advert is being served in google search about 20px away from my search results so this is somewhat pointless (unless it's annoying my competition lol) but yeah... basically this is my first campaign.. How long should it take to get text ads approved ? considering my image advert was almost instant. Can i excluded my text ads being served on the search results page (as it is pointless) Do i need any "privacy policy" on my website we receiving traffic ? as i am not using adsense on my site.. Do people click ads because they look good ? 190+ clicks in hours and barley even any sign up's resulted and no sales.. i'll make ugly banners if this is the case. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated, i am certainly not rich and am using this campaign as a test more than anything, but it would be nice to at least see a few sales from this to encourage me to pump more money into this.. Again Thanks to anyone who can reply ASAP.. im going broke while waiting for replies lol
if you want your ads on people's sites, not on search, then go to Settings, and it under Networks, Devices and extensions and untick 'Search' and have it running on the Content network. If you're not happy with the performance of the image ad that is showing, (image ads only run on content), run a report on the placement of it, and see if the sites ithey appear on are inappropriate - if they are, block those sites. Yes, people click if they look good - that's the idea. Making an ad that people don't want to click defeats the entire point. If you don't want people to click on an ad, don't run adwords. Likewise, if you don'r want ads on search to run on the same search pages that your organic listings are on (though it isn't pointless, it should be generating more visits and conversions), then don't bid on those keywords, bid on different ones.
Well said, i appreciate your help onto it now.. EDIT: how long until approved ? it's been near 36 hours.. but the image advert was approved almost instantly,Thanks
You may also want to test how far down you can bid your CPC on the content network. If you are getting a high click through rate, you can often keep your traffic levels high with extremely low bids.
