Upstream and Downstream Sites - Definitions?

    Can someone define "Upstream Sites" and "Downstream Sites"?
    Thanks in advance!
    I'm referring to Alexa ClickStream,

    It shows which websites your visitors are coming from just before they arrive on your site.

    Website ever shows Alexa ClickStream so everyone. My website is a year and then the traffic is relatively relative without being displayed
