that happened to me before, what I did was to target those keywords that does not rank on top then in a matter of time it will show on top.

Well, the SERP inn Google is dynamic. Even if your site remains totally unchanged in SEO sense, other competing websites will also perform SEO works, which affects the result regularly.

As already mentioned by the above member, serps are very dynamic and they reflect the sum of the efforts of all the webmasters displaying their websites.

Hence, if you have been working less lately or your competitor is at it continuously, your serp position is bound to suffer!

Ranking on google is not guaranteed. You must work harder than your competitors to gain good position for your keyword.

When you say "it's out of nowhere again" what do you mean? You can't find it? Try seeing if you're between serps 250-300, 500-550, or 950+ and if so you're probably sitting on some penalty. There's no other reason I can see someone completly dropping from the entire first page or two if they were there before (unless you are doing something shady and if that's the case one shouldn't wonder why).

As for myself I've really never had serp fluxation problems except around 2 1/2 yearsago when I was learning all about SEO and spent hours a day modifying titles, meta tags, url structures -- all thinks you never ever want to do all too often if you can avoid it.

There are lot of competition in online marketing, everybody want to be on top 10 so ups and downs in Google is natural we should regularly work and should implement new SEO activities.

Even if you're on the right track, you'll get ran over if you just sit there.
Common keywords and results change just about daily. Need to be constantly working on promotion and indexing.

I've been experiencing the same. Seems to have started right before the major PR update last month. The only changes I've been making is adding new content (same as I always have, nothing different). I understand that other competition will leap frog your site, but there is no way it will bump you out of the top 100 or 200 serps. Something else is going on. Also, it seems there are more than a few of us experiencing this. Not sure what's up with google.

Also, this is happening to a couple of my sites. Again, following normal protocol, I don't see why the sites keep bumping in and out of serps.

    I would give 2 answers...

You can read all day on these forums and see that many of us are seeing strange jumps in search engine results this month. Yes - Google is likely updating with a new algorithm change so we need to be patient.

My answer is contingent on whether you just posted some some new info and saw it at the top of the results, and now cannot find it. If that is the case, that is not unusual. Google gives higher relevance to NEW information posted online, and this will rapidly fade away unless it gets continued traffic which indicates to Google that it is still relevant and deserves to be at the top of the search results. Hope that helps....

It seems like blogs (at least wordpress) get first and second page spots and then settle back in the results after a few days or less until you work it back up with SEO.

I wouldn't worry about it. It happens to me from time to time, but each time after I show up again I'm much farther ahead than I was previously.

I have gone from page 2 to page 4, then page 3 then page 6 while it appears many sites are having similar but necessarily as dramatic results. Unnerving to say the least. I have seen in occur before but not quite to this degree. Hope it settles down some time before the next Presidential election.
