uploading

    Hi I know I am newbie. I am not sure if this belong here

    How do i upload every file. I just got a script. I went to file manager. I only can upload one at a time and there 100's. I do not know which file to choose to get the whole template or whatever i need. it says step one upload all files to server. step 2 set the files 777.

    please help

    You need to use an FTP client.

    You then login to your server and drag-drop files in the desired folder.

    Permissions can be changed after uploading by going into the file properties.

    you can also make the file into a zip that way it can save you from having to use a FTp client....that is way better, we do that....

    Yes uploading the Zip will be much easier and faster. Once the Zip file is uploaded you can unzip it from the hosting control panel mostly.

    you could unzip it if you hosts control panel supports Unzipping On the server. Else, you can extract the Files on your Own Pc and Then Upload it Via FTP.
    Permissions can Be changed Via FTP.

    Use filezilla or anyother free ftp software if you don't want to spend.

    Not everyone supports unpacking zip files as someone else has already pointed. out. I think you need ssh access. If you are on a shared server, most often this feature is not available.

    i recommend you to upload .rar files, they are more compressed then zip files.
