I continue to hear that you can't upload TV shows onto YouTube because they will be taken down but I see videos like Joel olsteen or other christian videos ect... all the time and they're not going anywhere. HOW are people uploading these videos? Is it from another site like justin.tv or are they using a device to record from their TV?

Are people making any money with this? And if so how much?

From what I know, all popular TV shows posted by regular users are taken down very quickly. Those, which are not so important, sometimes don't get deleted but I doubt that users can put ads on it and make money from it. Such material is still under the copyright so people trying to make money on the show, which is a property of another company, will obviously have problems with their lawyers :p Or YT will delete this movie and delete user's income form it if they're lucky ;)

YT has a tool which automatically detects copyrighted content (audio and video) during the process od uploading. There is a possibility to slighty change tones on audio and colors on video to make through this tool. Yet, if someone will report copyright abuse, there will be problems ;)

I don't find it a good way of earning money, you have to search for another idea :D
