Hi, I am absolutely new here - therefore please excuse me if I do not use the correct wording etc. I run a corporate website for dog accessories. The traffic onto the site is very low and google ad words has been too expensive. Therefore I am looking for ways to generate relevant traffic. I thought that youtube would be a good alternative, since some videos really generate a lot of clicks. I am not sure though, what youtube allows and what not. I read an article in this forum about URLs in the comments - but this seemed not to be accepted by most of you. Would I be allowed though to create my own video and put URLs in the video? hi, Youtueb is a good source for relevant traffic , and video seo is the best way to get rank and good amount of traffic ... creating your own video and uploading it to youtube is good. Along with this you have to do some more video marketing so that you will get more traffic at your site, you can add your URL in video and Description with live link, so that people will click on that link and you get traffic... I agree that using videos to increase traffic to a site is a great idea. YET, I do not believe that video is the best form of SEO... Actually, in all of the SEO lists which I have seen and been exposed to, videos aren't even mentioned. Regardless, I DO think it is a good way to promote. Most people will agree that Article Marketing is probably THE best SEO technique there is. On another note, I would not concentrate too much on trying to get ranked or a higher PR. People concentrate way too much on PR and disregard more important things like PROMOTION and including high quality and informative content on their sites. THAT is more likely to increase your SERPs, which ultimately will help increase traffic as well.

I was looking at once account today and notice I got like 70,000 views through google searches to those videos, so yes it works. Pets accessories (95% of my income comes from eCommerce websites) is a great in for videos. You have to find similar pet videos or create pet videos. Optimize them for keywords, related videos etc in order to get the best response. Cheers, Mukul
I agree, video marketing is an integral part of your overall marketing strategy, and should be treated as such Rather than just use YouTube, try syndicating your videos through the likes of Traffic Geyser (paid for service) or Tube Mogul (free) Basically you upload once and then they syndicate your video to all the top video hosting sites such as YouTube, DailyMotion, Metacafe, Vimeo, Viddler etc Best of luck Steve
