I have a question regarding Uploading my sites.

I have to upload 100 sites. Each site is about 8megs. I have started uploading via Dreamweaver. Is there a quicker way to do this ? Perhaps another FTP program that makes it more streamline ?
Maybe there are accelerator type programs...I dont know....any ideas ?

At this speed it will take me a month to complete the Uploads.

    Cheers for your help

I didn't realize exactly how much slower upload speeds are until I needed to upload 20 gigs of images to a photo hosting site. Even with a cable modem I had to let the uploads run all night for a couple of weeks.

I think the best thing to do is to zip the site, then upload the zip to your server with one of the FTP clients mentioned earlier and then unzip it in the appropriate directory.

Reason: If you upload 500 small files it will start an upload, and finish it before it even comes close to it's maximum upload speed. And before and after each upload, there is some up and down communication with the server, partially to tell the user what's happening. But if you upload one zip file containing all those 500 files, this process happens only once, and it gets the chance to transfer at maximum speed.

This technique is especially handy if you need to upload a lot of sites.
